आवाज के जादूगर और भारत की धड़कन रफी साहब को उनकी पुण्यतिथि पर सलाम

रफी साहब जिनकी मृत्यु को आज 33 वर्ष हो गए हैं, आज भी लोगों के दिलों पर राज कर रहे हैं। अति सरल रफी साहब जैसी आवाज शायद न कभी आई है ना आसानी से फिर कभी आएगी। वे ठीक ही कहते थे कि मेरी आवाज में मेरा कुछ नहीं, सब खुदा की मेहरबानी है।

भारत जो वर्षों से एक गरीब देश रहा है, यहां फिल्में और फिल्मी गाने सदैव से मनोरंजन का सर्वश्रेष्ठ साधन रहे हैं। और पुराने यानी पचास व साठ के दशक के फिल्मी गाने तो मानों लोगों के दिल में बस गए हैं। और उस समय के दस में से नौ हीरो के लिए दस में से नौ गाने रफी साहब ने ही गाए हैं। एक तो उनकी मिठास और ऊपर से खूबसूरत भाव! ...वाकई मनुष्य को इस जहां से उठाकर उस जहां पर पहुंचा देते हैं। भारत में लाखों लोग रफी साहब को भगवान मानते हैं। उनके तो कई घरों में मंदिर तक बनाए गए हैं। यह उनकी आवाज का जादू ही है जो आज उनकी मृत्यु के 33 वर्ष बाद भी भारत के कोने-कोने में सालभर उनकी नाइट्स होती रहती है। सिंगर कोई भी हो, गाने तो रफी साहब के ही होते हैं। मैं नहीं मानता कि इतना प्यार देश ने दिल से और किसी को कभी दिया है। आज भी उनकी आवाज करोड़ों लोगों के सुख-दुख बांटती है।

ऐसे महान आवाज के जादूगर को याद करना दिल को बड़ा सुकून पहुंचा रहा है। वाकई रफी साहब, आप का वह गाना सत्य बयां कर ही गया था कि

तुम मुझे यूं भूला ना पाओगे

जब कभी भी सुनोगे गीत मेरे

संग मेरे तुम भी गुनगुनाओगे।

रफी तुझे सलाम...।

To The Master Of A Magical Voice And The Heartthrob Of India – Mohammad Rafi A Salute On His Death Anniversary

It has been 33 years since Mohammad Rafi has passed away, but he still reigns over the hearts of people across the world. Perhaps, a voice as magical as that of the extremely simple and humble Rafi Sahab has never been born nor would it ever be. He used to rightly say, there is nothing in my voice that I can call mine; it is all a blessing bestowed upon me by God!

In India which has been a poor country for many years, films and their songs have always been the primary medium of entertainment. And especially the old film songs from the 50s and 60s have veritably been embedded in the hearts of the people. And in that era, the playback of nine out of 10 songs for nine out of 10 male protagonists had been sung by Rafi Sahab only. Firstly, his sweet voice and to top it, his expressive rendition! Truly, his voice transported his listeners from this world into a world of heavenly bliss. There are hundreds of thousands of people who revere Rafi Sahab as God in India. Many have even made his temples in their homes. It is solely due to his magical voice, that today, even after 33 years of his death, musical nights are held throughout the year in every nook and corner of India in his memory. The singer may be anyone, the songs are inevitably Rafi Sahab’s. I don’t think the nation has showered love in such magnitude on anyone else. Even today, his voice shares the happiness and sorrows of millions of people.

Remembering the master of such a mesmerising voice brings peace and contentment to my heart. Truly Rafi Sahab, the lyrics of one of the songs you sang aptly express this truth in a few words...

Tum mujhe yoon bhula na paoge

Jab kabhi bhi sunoge geet mere

Sangh sangh tum bhi gungunaoge

I salute you Rafi Sahab…!

When Truth Lies Within You, What Do You Have To Fear Outside?

Pay attention, the truth is not what you are doing; the truth is what is hidden inside you while you are doing it. You appear to be helping someone, but in your heart-of-hearts you are actually waiting for them to be destroyed...and that is the truth. In precisely the same way, the truth is not what you have already expressed, but that which, for some reason, you have not expressed yet. In future, this hidden truth will surely come to light. And it is this unexpressed truth that will disturb you!

The question is why don’t you express that which is hidden inside you? If you find the answer to only this, you will recognise your true self very well! And the one who is aware of oneself can also bring about a positive change within oneself! Just think, what does such a reformed person need to hide within? And the biggest truth of a human being’s life is to bring to surface what lies within him! Any of the teachings which encourage you to suppress or hide your inner-self are absolutely wrong. It is in fact the result of such teachings alone that human beings have become so corrupt!

...But you should save yourself from such corruption! Improve yourself so assuredly that what is within you cannot help but be expressed outside; and see how this one change will give your life an upswing!

सत्य भीतर है तो बाहर डर काहे का?

ध्यान रहे, सत्य वह नहीं है जो आप कर रहे हैं, सत्य वो है जो करते वक्त आपके भीतर छिपा पड़ा है। देखने में तो आप किसी की सहायता कर रहे हैं, परंतु मन से उसकी बर्बादी का इंतजार कर रहे हैं। ...और यही सत्य है। ठीक वैसे ही सत्य वह नहीं है जो आप प्रकट कर चुके हैं, बल्कि सत्य वह है जो आपने किसी कारणवश प्रकट नहीं किया है। कल उठकर यह अप्रकट ही प्रकट होने वाला है। वह अप्रकट ही आपको सताने वाला है।

सवाल यह कि जो आपके भीतर है वह बाहर निकालते क्यों नहीं? बस इस सवाल का जवाब खोज लोगे तो अपने को अच्छे से पहचान लोगे। और जो अपने को पहचान लेगा वह अपने में सुधार भी लाएगा। सोचो, ऐसे सुधरे मनुष्य को भीतर छिपाना क्या है? और जो है वह बाहर प्रकट कर देना ही मनुष्य-जीवन का सत्य है। अपने भीतर को दबाने या छिपाने वाली शिक्षाएं ही गलत है। तथा यह उसी का परिणाम है जो मनुष्य इस कदर विकृत हो चुका है।

...परंतु आप इस विकृति से बचें। भीतर इतना विश्वासपूर्वक सुधार ला दें कि भीतर का बाहर प्रकट हो ही जाए, देखना इस एक परिवर्तन से आपका जीवन कहां-से-कहां पहुंच जाएगा।

Fanaticism Is A Curse Hence, Avoid Every Form Of Fanaticism It Is This Fanaticism Which Is Causing You To Destroy Yourself!

Do not think that fanaticism is exclusive only to religions. No, religion is just an excuse…otherwise fanaticism is nothing but a state-of-mind. If it’s not about religion, then it’s about caste! Or even about principles and thoughts. In fact, expecting others to live according to your standards is also fanaticism. A strong leaning towards any group or community is also fanaticism. And, insisting on having your own way in any discussion or argument too is fanaticism. At the same time, to stubbornly stick to what you have decided upon is also fanaticism. Similarly, being adamant about something out-dated even after understanding something new and good, is also fanaticism. To sum it up, any kind of obstinacy is nothing else but fanaticism. And bear it in mind that the extent of one’s stubbornness is equal to that of one’s arrogance. And it is known to all that in the end arrogance only invites sorrow and anger. That is why, if you note carefully, whenever you speak even a little against someone’s religion, the religious fanatic angrily jumps into the fray in defence. If you also get angry the moment you hear anything against your liking or belief then beware. This is the beginning of a fanatic mindset. Do not even let it develop, or one day it will destroy your peace of mind.

कट्टरता एक अभिशाप है अतः हर प्रकार की कट्टरता से बचें यह कट्टरता ही है जो आपसे आपका विनाश करवा रही है

यह मत समझना कि सिर्फ धर्मों को लेकर ही कट्टरता होती है। नहीं, धर्म तो एक बहाना है...बाकी होती तो कट्टरता एक मानसिकता ही है। धर्म नहीं तो जाति की ही सही। सिद्धांतों या विचारों की ही सही। दरअसल दूसरों से आपके अनुसार चलने की किसी भी प्रकार की अपेक्षा कट्टरता है। किसी भी समूह या समुदाय के प्रति मजबूत झुकाव भी कट्टरता है। और बात-बात में अपनी बात मनवाने की जिद्द भी कट्टरता है। वहीं जो एकबार तय कर लिया फिर जिद्दपूर्वक उसी हिसाब से चलना भी कट्टरता ही है। वैसे ही कोई अच्छी बात समझ में आने के बाद भी किसी पुरानी बात पर अड़े रहना भी कट्टरता है। कुल-मिलाकर कहूं तो हर प्रकार की जिद्द सिवाय कट्टरता के और कुछ नहीं है। और यह ध्यान रख लेना कि जो जितना जिद्दी है, उतना ही अकडू होता है। और यह सर्वविदित है कि हर अकड़ अंत में दुःख और क्रोध को ही न्योता देती है। इसीलिए गौर करना, जरा-सा किसी के धर्म के खिलाफ बोलो कि धार्मिक कट्टरता का मनुष्य तुरंत क्रोधित हो मैदान में उतर आता है। यदि आपको भी अपनी पसंद या मान्यता की बात के विरुद्ध बात सुनते ही क्रोध आता है, तो सावधान हो जाओ। यह कट्टर मानसिकता की शुरुआत है। इसे पनपने ही मत दो वरना एक दिन यह कट्टर मानसिकता आपका सुख-चैन सब तबाह कर देगी।
