I was born only for the sake of
dying. Because my seven brothers and sisters born before me, were already
killed by my uncle, Kansa. And in order to kill me too, he was waiting for me
to be born. My birth took place on a dark moonless night. Later somehow I was
saved, although the shadow of death still did not stop following me. Sometimes
my uncle sent Putna and Keshi to kill me whereas at other instances I myself
combated with Arisht and Kaaliya. Sometimes to save my skin, I ran away from
the battlefield while at other times I saved my life with my cunning
war-strategies.
And what more can I say to you, the
death-like darkness kept following me until my very last breath. But the
amazing thing is despite all this, no one could ever harm even a hair on my
head, because I raised myself from ‘Kaanha’ to the level of ‘Jai Shri Krishna’.
So, the art and ability to go
from darkness to light is worth learning from me. But you did not learn that at
all and instead starting greeting whomsoever you met by saying ‘Jai Shri
Krishna’. My dear, I have already hailed myself with my deeds... by you
repeatedly hailing me, it is not going to grow or lessen. So how does hailing
me benefit you in anyway? It’s not as if you will become great by doing so. You
will rise to greatness only by taking a cue from how I went from darkness to
light.
So, study my life and learn from me. …Other
than that, the ones who without any reason keep mouthing Jai Shri Krishna, you
can see for yourself what I have reduced them to.
