Vincent Van Gogh was a true artist. Painting was his only hobby and also his only religion. He would simply immerse himself in his paintings. And whenever he would finish a painting he would go and hang it on the walls of his friends’ houses. But at that point of time, Van Gogh wasn’t a renowned artist, moreover there were very few people who could understand painting! So, as soon as Van Gogh left, his friends would pull down the paintings from the walls.
Oblivious of this, lost in a world of his own Van Gogh would land-up at his friends’ homes with newer paintings. He didn't have even the faintest idea that his old paintings were not hanging on the wall. Innocently, he would yet again hang his newly made painting on the wall… and this cycle continued for many years.
…Then it so happened that one evening, Van Gogh was sitting atop a mountain. The sunset that he saw that evening from the mountaintop captivated him so much that he decided to reproduce it on his canvas. Having made the decision, from next day itself he got to the task. And he pursued it so passionately that for a year he pitched himself on the mountaintop, because the sunset had caught his fancy was such, that he wanted to capture it live onto his canvas. Now as there was so much dedication and determination, the sunset was bound to come alive through his painting!
And it was this one painting that made Van Gogh ‘the Vincent Van Gogh’. His paintings became a rage across the world. Not just the new paintings but also the old ones started fetching hundreds of thousands of dollars. On the other hand, even his friends were left embarrassed beyond words.
Maybe, but the question is, how did all this happen? It was because of extreme passion. So, all you need to do, is instill such passion. If you have made up your mind to do something, should anything else matter? And only after summoning such extreme passion, will you be able to perform such an act of greatness, that you can call your life a success!
