Akbar is that Mughal emperor who is most
fondly remembered by the whole of India even today! Akbar, who ascended to the
throne at the tender age of 14 proved to the world that what a novice teenager’s
compassionate heart can achieve, even the experienced and seasoned people find
it difficult to accomplish! Akbar proved to the world that a loving heart
weighs much heavier than the best of the abilities.
Not only did Akbar nurture the feeling of
brotherhood and restore communal harmony between Hindus and Muslims, but he
also reinstated many constitutional rights to the Hindus! He encouraged all kinds of arts and talent
and taught people the art of living a fulfilling life! And the most commendable
feat is, to a large extent he managed to unite an India which was divided into thousands
of states and provinces! And as long as India exists, his contribution in forming
a united India will never be forgotten!
Nevertheless, the most important lesson to
be learned from Akbar’s exemplary life is...a child remains a child only till
the time he is not entrusted with a responsibility. Once a child is trusted to
fulfil a role, his abilities will overshadow all others. On behalf of all
Indians, I salute the great Akbar!
