Passion Makes It Possible! An Episode Of Edison’s Passion

This episode is of the time when Edison was immersed in experimenting with filaments to invent the light bulb. It is unknown as to how many days he had already spent in the laboratory. He had tried and experimented with thousands of filaments. But the bulb was refusing to light up. And Edison on the other hand, was neither getting discouraged nor tired. On the contrary, with every passing day his enthusiasm and faith was only increasing. And he was so focused on his experiments that he was oblivious to everything except inventing the light bulb.
One day Edison was so engrossed in his experiments that he even forgot to go to eat his lunch. As the afternoon progressed and Edison still did not come for his lunch, his house help arranged for the food to be served to him in his laboratory itself. But Edison’s focus and concentration was completely on the search for the filament, so he did not pay any attention to the food. A while later, one of his scientist colleagues came to the laboratory in search of him. Coincidentally, he too had not eaten his lunch. And thus, the scene was such that Edison was highly engrossed in experimenting and the food was sitting right in front of him. Obviously, the scientist colleague was hungry as well; so, he quickly gobbled down the food, finishing the entire plate. On the other hand, as soon as Edison was free from his experiments, his eyes first sighted his friend and then fell on the empty plate. Taking in the scene, he said to his friend - See, in my failure to find the right filament, I gobbled down everything on the plate.
…His friend was startled, as Edison hadn’t tasted even a morsel of the food! Even you should be startled; because only that person can become an Edison, who can get so immersed in his work that he remains unaware about the fact that he has had his food or not. In addition, also understand that until you do not have such passion you will never be able to do anything great and impactful!
