A Gathering Of Dogs

On day, a few philosophical dogs had gathered at a large crossroad. The motive was clear, they were unhappy with their name being linked with many proverbs owing to their habit of barking at the drop of a hat. Hence they had gathered to discuss the means and ways to be rid of their habit of barking. The discussions went on for a very long time but they could not arrive at any solution. A few philosophical dogs went to the extent of stating, “We are wise and might give up barking but what about the millions of stupid dogs? ...Who will make them understand? Who will make them give up their habit?” The issue was quite serious and not a single solution could be found. All were sitting with long and serious faces.

After a while, a wise dog could not contain himself any longer. Addressing everyone in a very sarcastic manner, he said- Firstly, clear the misunderstanding that all the dogs gathered here are wise. In fact, none of the wise dogs have come here. And yes, barking is natural and a means of expression for us. For us, barking comes from within and we bark. What is wrong with it? But the philosophical manner in which you all have gathered here to get rid of barking, this act of yours is surely like human beings. Mind well, he who dons this philosophical garb, will surely be born as a human being in the next life. Because it is this typical “learned” behaviour which prompts you to suppress your barking for the sake of appearing cultured, even though it is naturally coming from within.  No, don’t ever do this.

Just observe the human beings carefully. They have categorically made innumerable lists of good-bad and sin-virtue. And caught in this web, they have forgotten how to live naturally. He may be boiling with anger inside but still shows love outside. He burns with jealousy inside and yet congratulates success by presenting bouquets of flowers. Thanks to him practicing thousands of such discrepancies between his natural self and portrayed personality, he has become the world’s most unhappy and frustrated two legged animal. Hence please don’t live by such philosophies or you will become a human being in the next life.
