“Out of suffering have emerged the strongest souls; the most massive characters are seared with scars” – these are the words of the most multi-talented Lebanese philosopher, Jubran Khalil Gibran. He came into this world on the 6th of January, 1883 to the Maronite family of Gibran in Bsharri, a mountainous area in Northern Lebanon. He grew up under his mother’s tutelage in United States to awe people with his paintings and sculptures along with his words of wisdom and rhythm. The Prophet and many such works immortalised the name Khalil Gibran by its presence on the tongue of every poet, writer and artist. Let us salute him on his birthday and be inspired to achieve the same.
