I Am The New Year

 

You definitely know that, the number of years a person lives, the same number of New Years he enjoys in his lifetime. But what is this New Year? If you are unable to understand it, then in reality, this day will pass by as any other ordinary day of your life! And to be honest, this is what is happening with majority of the people. They think that by staying up late and dancing and partying through the night, they have celebrated the day! Partying and making merry is always good, but that you can do even on any other day. Okay fine, the New Year is a special day, dance a little extra today! But my importance is not only that much! Actually, I am a very big opportunity in a human being’s life. I come once a year, and I come to remind you that first and foremost you need to assess your deeds of the year gone by.  And before I come, decide what all do you want to do in the coming year.

Because, the last stage of a human being’s life is death. And before death closes in, living life and accomplishing something great and mind-blowing, is the purpose of life. But days come and go by quickly, and therefore he is not able to stop and fulfil his purpose in life. However, I come only once in a year. Hence, he can sit down with himself in solitude and spend some time to think and decide what he wants to do and what he doesn’t want to in the next 365 days. He can decide upon which path he wants to take determinedly. And this is my real importance. Jump for joy and dance to your heart’s content, I won’t deny you that; but along with it, remember that I come only once in a year. And it is while welcoming me that your determination is at its peak. Therefore, you only need to contemplate a little about my importance and you will be able to plan out your whole year very well! You can resolve to not repeat the mistakes you made in the year gone by. Simply put, I, i.e. New Year’s Day, is that day when you can not only pass some positive, strong resolutions for your life, but also determinedly put them into action. If you make use of me in this way, I will think that you have celebrated the New Year in the best possible manner, otherwise you would have wiled it away only in making merry. Meaning, ring in the new year with great gusto, but along with that firmly make some good resolutions for your forthcoming year... Only then will I be able to say from the bottom of my heart that you have welcomed me correctly.
